Keep in mind that Miperiors are partially robotic in many parts of their body, this gives them an unusually long average lifespan.

I don't see anything wrong with this happening close to the present day, actually. Would January 10th, 2793 be good, or is that too close to the Briefing?

The problem with that is that the Amphibibots currently own 300 systems very close to the Miperiors territory. The Miperiors have been in contact with nations like the Drodo, Aeoneonatrix, and Farengeto for a while. If they could meet/detect people that far away, how could they have overlooked the Amphibibots right next door?
The reason they have to be right next door is because a ship can only stray a certain distance through space in a certain amount of time. Given that it likely was an old Miperiors ship, running on a drive capable of something in the neighborhood of warp 5, the ship couldn't have gotten far.

Well, on the Amphibibots page it says:
Age A few million years old
I... don't think this can work out. If the date can be updated to a smaller number (perhaps around a century?) it would be easier to pick a date, preferably soon after its formation.

I was thinking more like:
The Amphibibots were created and lost by the Miperiors a few centuries ago, and were rediscovered near the beginning of this one.

Well, the Miperiors are about 221 years old. So, the Amphibibots could be made 21 years after the empire's creation. By the time it takes the ship to crash land, the Amphibibots to develop a society, and to establish contact with the Miperiors, it would have been about 100 years later, leaving about a century until the present day for them to grow to where they are today.
In that case, the meeting would occur early 2693. Is that okay? AceofSpace, you have any suggestions?
