One of the moniters on the Vengeance turned to Lingur, "Admiral, we're detecting some new ships. There are 7,500 of them and they didn't have a warp signature." "Hold that message," Lingur said to Callanni. "That would mean that they are likely using something more advanced... and therefore are likely more advanced." Lingur's had no way of knowing if these were allies or enemies. If the latter, his empire was no more doomed , if the former, there was hope again.
"Admiral," the Monitor said, "The Mardor seem to have redirected most of their forces to these new ships."
That strangthened the likelihood of the ally option. "Eject all lights from our carriers and have them assist. Once those lights are taken out, proceed to eliminate the other two nearby blocks, meanwhile, send more fighters up to fight the ones near the ships of the line."Meanwhile, Lingur turns on his comms and hails the new vessels. "This is Lingur Wildlight, head of the Guardians of Ku-Rokti, please identify yourselves and state your purpose."

In the USF flagship Hammidal looked at the hologram on the battlefield. His face softened a little. "Send a menssage to the both flagships" ordered the General First Class "Lets start with the protocol." "Yes, sir." replied one crewmember. Immediately the powerful general's voice echoed through the communicators from both sides. "This is the General First Class of the 34th Armada of the United Federation of Species! Mardor, you are in territory of the sovereign Aeoneonatrix Empire, member of Katar Sector Alliance, if you do not retire outside the area, we will be forced to open fire." Hammidal turned off the communicator and smiled, he knew the Mardor not give up so easily. He arrived just in time to prevent the complete annihilation of the last bastion of Lingur's defense, but the battle was still to be decided, he should act quickly to cause the most casualties Mardor before they escaping. He must first of all prevent that Mardor knew what they were facing, the less information the enemy had better. "Engineers, scanners blocker activated" said the General "We do not want these stupids know what we have under our fuselage." Scanners blockers activated, no one in the battle now would know the type of technology used by the ships of the Federation, and Hallarz then could hide a few tricks up his sleeve. Hammidal extended the hologram with the tips of his fingers, the image of the battlefield surrounded the General, now he was in his environment, moving, sorting, organizing, the battle would soon be of his own. "Good" said the General for the communicator "Now, Battlefleet alpha and Battlefleet beta, move to the left wing of the enemy formation, Battlefleet gamma and Battlefleet delta, to the right wing, made attack maneuver, code: Steel Rain, now! The blocks of ships obey, in few seconds the Federation's ships took the form of a huge wedge crawling toward the Mardor. "Someone contact me with Lingur, I need to know if he is ok" said the General, remembering his ally. "Right away, sir!" The battle was ready to start, the Mardor soon feel the wrath of an empire that had survived the death of an entire universe.

Lingur saw Hammidal appear on his comms screen. His hope was fully reinvigorated. "Thank you for coming to help us," Lingur said, "Is there anything we could do to help you strategically? That is, once we are safe from these lights."
Haimmdal smiled, "I am glad that you could resist this attack force" said the general "We could have some problems with the Mardor's light units. I need that you retract and attack this forces. Another thing, Lingur, whatever you do not you penetrate enemy lines, I have a plan."
"Most of their light forces are over here," Lingur said, "and they're firing on our carriers. Getting to the rest would require going into their formation."
"Do not worry for the others, but if you make sure that no one continue advance, we would be calmer," Haimmdal said.
"We will do our best," Lingur said.
Hammidal made a half smile. "Be ready, and trust in me all the time."

"THIS IS MARDOR SPACE!" Deathlash screamed in response to Hallarz's warning, swinging his claws at the hologram before him in anger. Just as his talons were about to tare through the projection, the Federation's ships disappeared and were replaced by a vague blur. "What now?!" "Our sensors don't seem to work anymore, master." "All of them?" Deathlash had just about had it. "They're being jammed somehow... The ships are heading straight for us!" "Order..." Deathlash gripped the side of the railing, "Order the fleet to charge," he said coldly, "teach them to interfere with the Mardor." And so, the Mardor met the Federation's charge head on, and were almost immediately consumed by the hail of fire that assaulted them. Only a few managed to make it past the deadly screen. These spiraled out of control and went on to collide harmlessly with the deflector shields of Federation ships. From behind the reinforced windows of his flagship, the Mighty Admiral Deathlash stared at the massacre before him with horror, and witnessed as the Mardor navy, upon which their entire empire had been built, was overwhelmed by a force half its size. "No..." he said, his eyes wide, his limbs shaking with fear, barely sustaining his weight as he recoiled from the spectacle. "It doesn't end like this... It can't! It isn't fair! NO! IT ISN'T FAIR!"

Hammidal felt a surge of pleasure at seeing his enemies drop like flies before his terrible power, Chibar instincts told him to attack the flagship, to assassinate their leader, or better yet, he defused the enemy defenses to board the ship and capture him alive. But no, he was a general first class, and should behave as such. With a fluid movement of his hands, ordered his ships in the hologram to change their formation, his formations versatility was legendary, in less than a minute the ships went from a murder wedge to a retaining formation, the medialuna. "To the Mardor captain, your defenses are useless against our weapons, surrender now and your life will be forgiven, continue to fight and I will have to spray the vessel." said Hallarz. The general's body was frozen, it was a majestic image to see such a predator waiting for the reaction of his enemy, like a lion stalking its prey. A light caught the attention of the General, a point of light in your hologram indigo was being consumed by a series of dots crimson, the Aeoneonatrix were under attack. "Moniters" said Hammidal "Send a menssage to the four battlefleets, make the Shield-Class Cruseirs send the Drones Destructor to help the Aeoneonatrix". "Yes, general!" replied the moniters NCO. The swarm of drones circled the remaining force directly impacted Mardor's light ships. The smart weapons launched small EMP-bombs and neutralized Mardor's shields for a moment, long enough to the drones pierced the defenses and located on the enemy hull. The light from the explosions filled the vacuum of space.

"To the Mardor captain, your defenses are useless against our weapons, surrender now and your life will be forgiven, continue to fight and I will have to spray the vessel." Deathlash's heart pounded in his chest as he considered his options. He had led the entire Mardor navy to victory for fifteen years, only to see it utterly destroyed in a matter of seconds. And yet, thoughts of self-preservation were still at the forefront of his mind. Seething, he walked over to the front of the bridge with the gait of a beaten animal and slowly picked up a mouthpiece, "This is Admiral Deathlash," he said, his voice trembling, "We... We surrender." It should be noted that the drones would reach the light brigades behind the Aeoneonatrix lines after the surrender. All Mardor ships would have stood down, with some fleeing the battlespace. If the drones proceeded to attack, the Mardor ships that were not destroyed in the first volley would open fire, blanketing the drones in deadly hails of flak. Most would not survive.

Hammidal opened his eyes to hear the answer Mardor, he was not expected to surrender. For a split second his face turned into a hilarious look of utter confusion, then he regained his composure.
"Wise decision" said the general for the comunicator "we will have to board your ship with land drones, do not try any tricks or we will be forced to destroy what remains of your fleet."
Hallarz turned off the hologram and sat in his command chair, called the computer a drink, his well-deserved reward for a well-deserved victory, and ordered engineers to send drones approach.
"Moniters, contact Lingur, said him that we won."

Lingur saw the victory alert.
"They won..." he said, "They won! We're going to live!"
He ran up to and hugged Callanni, who, though startled, embraced him.
"Isn't it wonderful." Lingur said.
"Yes," said Callanni.
The bridge of the Vengeance, and indeed the entire empire once it was alerted, was overflowing with joy.

Hammidal smiled when he saw how the Mardor leader was drone was captured by his land, would have liked to order the drone will launch a powerful electric shock for a dose of his own medicine, but would let Ikeben decide to do with that scum.
"Oh, hell" whispered the First Class General "Ikeben..."
Hammidal recalled that he had been ordered Ikeben inform him as soon as he could about what happened in the battle.
"Call to Ikeben, now!"
The Ikeben figure appeared in front of the general, holographically projected.
"Supreme Commander!" greeted him Hammidal "Informing about our victory over the Mardor. There were many casualties Aeoneonatrix, just dozens of federal vessels, but most of the fleet Mardor has been destroyed. The remains of the enemy fleet, along with their captain, is under custody of my men".

Ikeben looked wearily at Hammidal and nodded. "Well done. How much of your fleet is still intact?"
He seemed an aged man, haggard after the experiences of the week prior. His black uniform tunic was unbuttoned and revealed the series of blood-soaked nano-bandages that circled his chest.

Hammidal looked for a second the nano-bandage, before regain composure.
"Most of the fleet, we only lose a group of drones"
He knew how annoying and painful it could be to be wounded, behind huge defenses, viedo like other lost and risked their lives to save him.

Ikeben noted his discomfort, and appeared annoyed at being thus reminded of his wound. "Good," he continued with a hint of asperity. "Is Wildlight there?"

Hammidal replied smiling.
"Yes, he continues alive"
Hammidal rested his arms on the armrests of the chair and folded his fingertips in front of him.
"After you talk with him, send us a menssage, sir" said the General First Class "We wait new orders."

The image of Ikeben frowned and leaned forward against an invisible surface. "I need to talk to both of you. Could you get him on the channel?"

Hammidal nodded.
"You've already listened the Supreme Commander!" said to his troops "Call Lingur!" "Yes sir" responded one of his moniters.
Hammidal thought to himself what would be the next order of Ikeben. Strengthen Ku-Rokti defenses in case of an attack Great Tarkan Empire? Counterattack? General felt a shiver to think the latter possibility, the KSA ordain him freedom snatch an empire?

Lingur displayed the communication on the Vengeance's viewscreen.
Ikeben peered into the Vengeance's bridge and gave Lingur a slight nod of the head. "Mister Wildlight," he said, "I trust we are not too late?"
"Not at all," Lingur said, "We did not lose even a single civilian."
"I am glad. In what condition are your troops?"
"Well my military is not gone," Lingur said, "but we did take significant casualties."
"Prepare a detailed report and forward it to Commander Lich'Twik and myself, if you will. How much of the Mardor navy have you disabled today?"
"Over 13,000 ships," Lingur said.
"With ease, or so Hammidal tells me. How many ships do you think they withheld in reserve?"
"About 2,000," Lingur said with a smile.
Ikeben's eyebrow rose. "Given the show of force we've demonstrated today, will they be likely to accept a surrender outright?"
"Mardor are cowardly scum," Lingur said, "It'd have taken a lot less."
Ikeben nodded and immediately shifted his attention to the projection of the ISS commander, "General Hammidal, you and your forces have been entrusted to me. You now hold the rank of Admiral within the alliance's command structure. Congratulations." He did not wait for a reply before continuing, "I need you to contact your government to coordinate an invasion of Mardor space should they refuse to surrender. Lich'Twik's forces are busy as it is, and we aren't able to spare anything down here."

"As ordered, commander" said Hammidal "I will inform you soon of the resolution of the Senate"
The projection of Ikeben faded and the general folded his hands and rested his head on them. They had won, but because he was so afraid of? It was a rhetorical question, he was not comfortable doing invasions, attack, withdraw freedom, exercise power martial law, no, that was not him.
He looked the void of the space.
"Gentlemen, you have already listened the commader, call to the Senate"
Hammidal closed his eyes, thinking, expecting the Senate orders.
